Safehands Nursery at Out Rawcliffe caters for children aged from birth to five years old. Our nursery is an old school site that provides us with a freeflow environment between rooms and to the outdoors. We are situated within the beautiful surroundings of the village at Out Rawcliffe with breath taking views of the countryside. We are open 51 weeks of the year with the exception of bank holidays.

Our nursery boasts an extensive outdoor area with a forest area known locally as ‘Owl Wood’, with our very own resident owl. Forest School is an inspirational process that offers children regular opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment

We have three separate rooms for babies, toddlers and preschool. We have a baby room where our youngest children are able to play in a warm and safe environment. Our toddler room is open, bright and welcoming, with a wide range of exciting activities to support children’s learning. In our preschool room, activities are planned to help children develop the skills they need to be ready to move onto school when the time comes.

Each child is allocated a key person who will ensure your child is settled, stimulated and challenged whilst in the nursery environment; they are responsible for your child’s learning journey and will work closely alongside you to plan effective next steps to ensure your child is reaching his/her full potential.

We plan regular daily and weekly activities based on children’s own individual interests to encourage them to be actively involved in their learning and development. Children are very much seen as individuals here at Safehands and we warmly welcome all children, celebrating diversity of every kind.

We have a green ethos throughout the nursery, encouraging children to recycle and grow fruit and vegetables which are used as part of our daily meals. We value parents’ input into our nursery, and our nursery manager will work with you when planning our summer and winter menus.

We are very lucky that our staff team have a number of years’ experience working with children in the early years. Our staff are thoroughly dedicated to ensuring all our children’s well-being and safety. They are all highly qualified; all staff regularly engage in Continuous Professional Development training to maintain our high standards.
